Alex Olmedo Duynslaeger, was born in 2001 in Barcelona, Spain. He started to study cello with his mother Gaëtane Duynslaeger. Currently, he is studying with Lluís Claret at the Liceu Conservatory of Barcelona, where he is enjoying a full scholarship from Foundation of Music “Ferrer-Salat”.
He has participated in masterclasses with Jérôme Pernoo, Asier Polo, Fernando Arias, Rafael Rosenfeld, Amir Eldan, Gustav Rivinius, Ludwig Quandt and Peter Bruns, participating in festivals like the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades and “Musique à Flaine”.
He won several competitions with the first prize like “Jaime Dobato” National competition (2017), Barcelona Strings Competition (2018), “Edmond Baert” Competition where he won also the “Servais Prize” (Brussels, 2018). Passionate of String Quartet, he is playing on the “Atenea Quartet” with whom he performed at the Festival of Wissembourg, Delta Chamber Music Festival, Pòdium (Barcelona, Spain)… They have also won the first prize in the DeltaChamber International Competition (2019)
Alex has played concerts as a soloist with the Young Orchestra of Andorra, the Orchestra of the Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona, the Chamber Orchestra of Sant Cugat, the Symphonic Orchestra of the XXI century and the Italian Orchestra “Bazzini Consort”. Next year he will be playing the Rococó Variations by Tchaikovsky with the “Gregorio Solabarrieta” Orchestra.
