Raul Campos, born in 2002 in Barcelona, began studying violin and piano at the age of 4 using the Suzuki method. At the age of 10, he enrolled at the Conservatori de Granollers Josep M. Ruera, and at 16, he was admitted to the IEA Oriol Martorell. Since 2020, he has been studying violin at the Stella Privat Hochschule in Feldkirch, Austria, under the guidance of Professor Rudens Turku.
He has participated in various international festivals such as the Mendelssohn Festival in Hamburg, the Musiktage Academy in Seefeld, Flims, and Starnberg, the Festival Clásico Ribeira Sacra, and the Feldkircher Streichertagen. Additionally, he has had the opportunity to take masterclasses with Ana Chumachenco, Andreas Röhn, Yair Kless, Tanja Becker-Bender, Sophie Heinrich, Maria Milstein, Michael Foyle, and other renowned musicians.
He has been concertmaster of several orchestras, including JONC, JOSB, the Pforte Kammerorchester Plus chamber orchestra, the Stella Vorarlberg University Symphony Orchestra, and the PulsArt Ensemble. In 2024, he was selected as an academy member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
His passion and admiration for chamber music have led him to collaborate with musicians such as Jonathan Aner, Tatiana Chernichka, Maria Włoszczowska, Klaus Christa, Gerhard Vielhaber, Lena Eckels, Mathias Johansen, Moritz Huemer, Martina Schucan, and Simone Zgraggen.
As a former member of the Metanoia Quartet, he participated in the premiere of the opera Lili Elbe at the St. Gallen Theater and won the first prize at the Stella Chamber Music Prize in 2024.
He has been awarded the Stella Music Prize, the first prize at the Ars Kosova Music Competition, and the audience prize at the Premio Galimusic in 2021 and 2022. He has also won the second prize several times at the Zamora Chamber Music Competition and received an honorable mention at the 4th Barcelona Violin Competition in 2019.
Notable highlights include his performances as a soloist with the Liechtenstein-Werdenberg Orchestra in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, with the Arts Simfònica Jove, and a live recital on ORF. He is one of the scholarship recipients of the Friends of Rudens Turku association for the 2023/24 academic year.
